In 2018, the City approved the Envision Olathe Downtown plan after engaging the community to update the plan. Over the years, the City has continued to engage the public to ensure the organization understands what is important to our community. This April the City will bring forward the Elevate Olathe  Comprehensive Plan, a revised community-wide comprehensive plan. Both of these plans identify a need for enhanced infrastructure, including parking.  This new garage advances revitalization efforts of Downtown Olathe as new restaurants, businesses, special events, and more continue to draw visitors to Downtown in the future.

Once the structure is completed the new parking garage will provide a better overall experience for City staff members and Downtown visitors alike.

• More than double the currently available parking spaces, enhancing parking options for both customers and employees

• A more planned approach to special parking requests (i.e. ADA, electric vehicles, short term, etc.)
• Improved pedestrian experience beyond the vehicle
• Covered parking to help protect vehicles and pedestrians during inclement weather
