Olathe residents can pick up compost or mulch free of charge at the facility during open hours, when materials are available.

Customers are limited to one load of compost and mulch per day.

Facility staff will direct customers to the appropriate loading areas when materials are available.

Customers must load materials using their own tools (shovels, pitchforks, etc.).

Commercial vehicles, commercial trailers and motorized loading equipment are not allowed.

Olathe residents are welcome to bring their own yard waste to the facility. Grass clippings, leaves, plant trimmings, limbs and brush are accepted.

Materials not accepted:

• Plastic bags
• Trash
• Rocks, gravel
• Dirt
• Sod
• Lumber (including landscaping timbers, decking, pallets, etc.)
• Metal
• Animal Waste

The City of Olathe operates a food waste composting program for Olathe residents, with a food waste drop-off site at the Olathe Community Recycling Center.
