South of 167th Terrace to North of Marais Drive (including 167th Street)
This section of Black Bob Road has opened to traffic. Remaining items such as restoration, sod, and landscaping will be performed as weather allows.
North of Marais Drive to South of 165th Street
This section is open for residents who live north of Marais Drive and have driveways onto Black Bob Road. Please note the intersection of 165th Street is still under construction and remains closed.
South of 165th Street to South of Heritage Park Entrance
Our contractor continues to show progress, and is making every effort to place asphalt base near the new Heritage Park entrance prior to the end of the year, and before asphalt plants close for winter. Asphalt and concrete work will continue as weather allows, continuing into Spring 2026. This section of road remains closed to thru traffic.
December 2, 2025
South of 167th Terrace to South of 165th Street (including 167th Street)
Opening delayed due to cold and wet weather conditions preventing the striping (paint based material) of the new roadway. The work was started the week of November 24, and it will resume as soon as the weather allows.
South of 165th Street to South of Heritage Park Entrance
Six inches of asphalt has been placed on the northbound lanes, and further asphalt placement will resume as the weather allows.
October 27, 2025 Update
South of 167th Terrace and 167th Street (west of Black Bob Road)
From 167th Terrace to the southern project limits, six inches of base asphalt has been placed, and construction of the new curb is underway.
From 165th Street to 167th Terrace
The sidewalk on the east side, from the roundabout at 167th Street to Marais, is complete. The 10 foot wide side path on the west side, from the roundabout at 167th Street to Marais, is complete, and the steel placement and form work for the accompanying side path wall is underway. Installation of the roundabout brick pavers is approximately 80% complete. The underground work for the new streetlights, from the roundabout at 167th Street to 165th Street, is complete.
From Heritage Park Entrance to 165th St
Construction of the new storm sewer is complete, and the earthwork for the new roadway is also complete.
October 7, 2025 Update
South of 167th Terrace and 167th Street (west of Black Bob Road)
The dirt work over and around the concrete culvert is complete, and the large stone has been placed on the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert. The roadway earthwork is complete, and the base rock (that goes underneath the asphalt) is expected to be placed in the next few days.
From 165th Street to 167th Terrace
Another four inches of asphalt has been placed, and this completes the 10 inch base course of asphalt. The remaining 2 inches is the surface course, and it will be put down when this section is nearing completion. The curb work is complete, and preparation for the sidewalks is underway. Conduits for the future streetlights are being installed, and the interior of the medians is being filled in.
From Heritage Park Entrance to 165th St
Construction of the new storm sewer is approximately 85% complete. Earthwork for the new roadway is approximately 60% complete.
September 12, 2025 Update
South of 167th Terrace
Construction of the large, concrete culvert is complete. The wooden forms are being removed, and placing dirt around the culvert should begin the week of September 15. The earthwork for the future roadway will begin after the dirt is placed around the new culvert.
From 165th Street to 167th Terrace
The first six inches of asphalt are placed. Installation of the new concrete curb and gutter is moving towards completion, and the curb will need to gain sufficient strength prior to more roadway work proceeding.
From Heritage Park Entrance to 165th Street
The new watermain is complete, and construction of the new storm sewer is approximately 5% complete. Earthwork for the new roadway and the new Heritage Park entrance (south of the current entrance) is in progress.
August 25, 2025 Update
From 165th Street to 167th Terrace the new watermain is complete and the new underground storm sewer system is also complete. The earthwork, in preparation for asphalt placement, is nearing completion. The initial lifts of asphalt, for the new roadway, are slated to begin next week (weather permitted). The final concrete pour for the large reinforced concrete box, south of 167th Terrace, is expected to occur on August 27.
Work has started between 165th Street and the existing entrance to Heritage Park, and this work has closed the intersection of 165th Street and Black Bob Road. The new watermain is being installed and work on the underground storm sewer will begin as the watermain work wraps up. The initial earthwork is underway.

May 29, 2025 Update
The wet weather has slowed the progress, and the impact of the rain extends beyond when the rain stops, as the ground also needs time to dry out before work can resume.
Excavation for the new culvert (south of 167th Terrace) is approximately 90 percent complete, and the contractor continues building up the subgrade of the new roadway and the new roundabout. The installation of a new watermain is expected to start next week (the week of June 2).
March 27, 2025
Tree removal work began the week of March 24. On April 7, weather permitting, work on Phases 1 and 2 will begin, and this work will result in the closure of Black Bob Road from south of 167th Terrace to south of 165th Street. The removal of an existing culvert, channel grading and earthwork will be the primary focus for the next two to three weeks.
