A right-of-way permit is required for all work in the right-of-way including but not limited to:

  • Any excavation work is being done within the public right-of-way
  • Overhead, at grade, and underground utility work
  • Any work that requires traffic control
  • Any work that requires pre-placement inspections (typically drive approaches and sidewalks)

The public right-of-way typically starts approximately 11 ft. measured from the back of the curb.
