The K-9 Unit has assisted in the apprehension of numerous violent crime suspects and located illegal narcotics valued at millions of dollars.
The K-9 Unit includes of a captain, a sergeant, and four patrol officer/handlers.
The canine teams are deployed in various ways for common uses such as detecting narcotics and apprehending criminals.
Duties include:
- Aggression control
- Agility
- Area search
- Article search
- Building search
- Criminal apprehension
- Narcotic detection
- Tracking
