Olathe Housing Authority
Waiting List Opening – Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing
May 11-15, 2026
Beginning May 11, 2026 the Olathe wait lists will be open for online applications for Housing Choice Vouchers and Public Housing. Public Housing includes Parkview Manor 1 and 2 bedroom apartments as well as 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom scattered site duplexes and single family homes.
Preferences will be given to applicants with the following:
- Applicant lives in Olathe
- Applicant works at least 10 hours a week, and/or who is at least 62 years of age and/or disabled.
Applications must be submitted online at olathe.housingmanager.com. The application will not be available prior to 8 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026 and will close promptly at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Application requirements include:
- active email address
- mailing address
- social security number
- date of birth
Proof of preference, income, etc. will not be required to be submitted until you reach the top of the waiting list. Your application will not be officially submitted until you receive a confirmation number to your provided e-mail. Please keep a copy of this e-mail.
No applications will be provided or accepted at the Olathe Housing Authority office.
If you do not have internet access you may call 913-971-6260 prior to 5 p.m. on May 1, 2026 to discuss options for accessing the internet.
Updates will not be mailed in December as usual. Instead, you’ll need to complete your update online. You will receive an email notification when it’s time to update your information.

- Two to five years, with preference eligibility.

- Meets working preference status.
- Meets elderly status.
- Meets disability status.
- Meets Olathe residency status.
Eligibility Requirements
- Meets program guidelines for family income.
- Meets program guidelines for household composition including families, single individuals, elderly, and/or a person with a disability.
- Holds U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.
- Meets criminal background check requirements.
- Holds a good standing status with other housing authority agencies.
Your responsibilities to maintain your place on the OHA Waiting List
- Report changes to physical or mailing address
- Report changes in income or family composition to the Olathe Housing Authority (OHA):
- Report income changes
- Report family composition changes
- Request for a reasonable accommodation related to disability must be made in advance of the deadline.
Your file will be closed if
- You fail to return and/or respond to any OHA correspondence.
- You fail to return a Waiting List update within the designated timeframe, in December.
- You fail to request an appeal and/or hearing in writing within the designated timeframe.
The Waiting List is purged annually in December
- Updates are mailed by first-class mail the first week of December.+
- Updates are considered delivered unless they are returned by the US Post Office.
- Updates must be returned and/or responded to within the designated timeframe to avoid closing the applicant’s file and removing the applicant’s name from the Waiting List.
- Appeals will only be considered if a request is made in writing and received within 30 days after the date a Waiting List file is closed.
