The two-story station will sit on its existing 2-acre site at 13301 S. Mur-Len Road.

• 2025 – City Council authorized project and began design.
• 2026 (September) – Demolition of current building and construction to start.
• 2027 (late fall) - Estimated project completion.

• During the station’s demolition and construction, the fire department will position resources to ensure the best coverage to all parts of Olathe. Station 4 crews will be assigned to nearby stations during the project.
• The impact on local traffic during demolition and construction will be minimal.
• The project is expected to start in early Fall and take about 14 months to complete.
• Demolition and construction should only occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; most days ending by 4 pm. On occasion, weekend work will be necessary, but only during the same hours.
• The sidewalk, in front of the station, may be closed during both demolition and construction as it will not be safe for pedestrian traffic. Efforts will be made to keep the sidewalk open when practical.

Station 4 is a capital improvement project (PN 6-C-022-25) with a budget of $16.5 million, which includes building design and construction. Funding is through General Obligation Bonds.
