The 2026 Property Tax Rebate application window begins on Monday, March 2, 2026. Applications will not be available until that date.

The Planning Division is now located on the 2nd floor of Olathe City Hall (100 E. Santa Fe St.).

The Residential Property Tax Assistance Program helps reduce the tax burden on income-qualified Olathe households by returning the City portion of collected property taxes. This is a City-funded project and is designed to assist residents whose 2025 income falls within the guideline for Low Income as established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Qualifying residents will receive a rebate up to a $750 maximum.

Veteran and Military Provision Added

Continuing this year, the City Council approved the provision for qualifying Veterans and Military members. Those who meet all criteria except the income qualification will receive a $250 rebate. Veterans can be eligible for the full rebate amount of $750 if you fall within the income guidelines.

Complete applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Your application is not complete and you are not eligible to receive payment until you have paid both December 2025 and May 2026 property tax installments. Although applications will be accepted prior to both property tax payments being completed, an incomplete application will not hold your place in line, and a rebate check will not be issued until both property tax payments have been made in full.
