Be Neighborly as a Short-Term Rental 

If you choose to rent your home as a short-term rental, be a good neighbor and consider the following:

• Help to ease traffic and safety concerns in neighborhoods by providing off-street parking for guests whenever possible.
• Check with the homeowners’ association, where applicable, regarding their rules on short-term rentals.
• Consult rental platforms, such as Airbnb and VRBO, regarding policies and procedures such as ban on parties. These platforms often provide specific contact information for reporting concerns.
• Follow all existing laws and City of Olathe codes such as those related to noise, trash, and property maintenance.
• All suspected criminal activity should be reported to the Olathe Police Department and potential City code violations can be reported to Community Enhancement at OlatheKS.gov/OlatheConnect.
