As a part of the Community Development Division, the Building Codes team exists to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community by ensuring buildings are constructed, altered, and maintained to established standards. Through plan review, permitting, inspections, and municipal code enforcement, emphasis is placed on reducing risks related to structural failure, fire, unsafe systems, or improper construction practices.
The Building Codes team promotes consistency, accountability, and long-term resilience in the built environment, helping property owners, contractors, and residents understand and meet requirements that support safe, functional, and durable buildings across the community.
