Olathe Municipal Court Accepting Food Donations in place of fines

The Olathe Municipal Court is accepting food and toiletry donations in place of fines from November 12-22.
Those who bring $15 worth of pantry or toiletry items to the Olathe Municipal Court will receive $50 off any outstanding parking or traffic fines.
Only non-perishable food items will be accepted. No expired food items will be accepted. A receipt for the items must be provided to receive the fine waiver. Offer not valid for commercial vehicle parking tickets and is limited to $50 of fines waived per person on traffic and parking charges only.
Most needed items include:
- Easy-open soups
- Canned goods like ravioli, hearty soups with meat
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Canned beans and vegetables
- Fruit cups
- Breakfast bars
- Instant mac and cheese
- Oatmeal
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
- Baby food and formula
- Cake mix and icing
- Toilet paper
- Paper towels
- Diapers and wipes (especially sizes 4, 5 & 6)
- Deodorant
- Bars of soap
- Razors and shaving gel/foam
All donations will be given to organizations supported by Olathe Cares and the Olathe Mayor's Children's Fund, including Center of Grace, Starfish and Mission Southside.
